Step 1. Consult
First, meet with Federal Funding Group (FFG) to review the Healthcare Connect Fund subsidy program. Identify eligible sites and telecom services that could receive up to 65% in subsidy. The kick-off is every year on August 1.
Step 2. Gather
Work together with FFG to assemble all documents for sites, services, and projects. FFG will file for site eligibility for any new locations and prepare the request.
Step 3. Post
A request for proposal (RFP) will be posted to the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) site to allow the 28 day day posting period. This process takes place between September and December.
Step 4. Select
Selection of the most cost effective solution from RFP outcome. Execute contracts or chose to stay with existing provider. FFG will prepare the USAC funding application. The selection period is typically in November through January.
Step 5. Submit
FFG submits the funding application to USAC for the upcoming funding year. The submission period is between December and March 31. Deadline April 1.
Step 6. Funding
Equipment can be purchased on or after July 1.
